We were expecting a 21 year signature required package. I had waited until 11 to shower. I jumped in. Now lets face it, i don't have a lot to wash these days so showers are short! Smookie was parked in her spot under the dining room table holding the eye test on the street. As I am drying off, I hear the sliding door to the ups truck. I run to the hall closet, eyeing my front door and my quiet dog. There is a slip on the glass of the door and I hear the truck start up. I drop the towel, grab my long dress raincoat, button it up and grab my keys. I run for the door, open it, grab the sorry you weren't here memo, and head barefooted and headed to my car. I looked liked Uncle Festus on the AAdams Family. I chased down the street following the UPS truck. When he stopped at his next delivery, I pulled over to his door. Now if you watched the AAdams family you know the look that Festus would get from 'normal' people. Can you imagine the look that I got?
I showed him the slip and said did you just leave this on my door. I got a nod, as I don't think he could talk yet. He was in awe of my natural look. I said can you bring it back. Voice found replied You weren't there. Ok, now lets argue....Yes I was, I was in the shower. Did you ring the bell, the dog didn't even bark. Well, I did and it is four cases. So I politely say, it is going to be 70 this weekend and you really want the responsibility of keeping the wine cool enough over the weekend to deliver on Monday intsead of driving back down the street (6 houses) and off loading it. I think he was scared I would get out of the car because he agreed to return right away. I opened the garage and stood while Smookie went nuts in the playroom and eyed the UPS guy as he rapidly dumped the wine and ran.
I look back at this and think...no clothes, no hair, no shoe, no glasses....it was like I was possessed. I am too old for this!!!! Glad my Mother wasn't here. She won't let me wear Jeans when I go to downtown Tyler. This might put her over the edge! Maybe, I will just buy a muzzle and lay low the next few months!
Yesterday was my first Taxol. The queasy feeling in my stomach is gone and that is nice. They pump you full of steroids because of allergic reactions so last night sleep was difficult to find. I wish the UPS guy could come by and check out Festus with some Barry Bonds muscle!! I understand this will pass today and my tired feeling will return but that is hopefully it. At this juncture it is much easier than that good ole A and C! Working thru tired is easier for me than nausea.
We start the second journey now for 12 weeks. I am lucky to have all of you supporting me and sharing the love!! Thanks for being on my wagon. If you hear more crazy stories about me, ignore them. You know that I would never do such a thing! Right!! You are marvelous!!!
